High School (U.S. Lacrosse Level 2) Training
sessions
are held for prospective adult referees prior to the start of the
lacrosse season. Completion of this training qualifies the
trainee to officiate both High School and |

High School Official
Training Requirements:
In order to become a member in good standing of the Georgia Lacrosse
Officials Association it is necessary to complete the following training
requirements:

Classroom

a.
For officials
with 3 years or less it is necessary to attend three of the
four annual classroom training sessions. |

b.
For officials
with more than 3 years experience it is necessary to attend two
of the four annual classroom training sessions.

c. This training
is specifically for officials who will be officiating High School
games. |

2. |
Rules Test
Officials must complete the rules test – either on line or written
and obtain a passing score of 70. |

3. |
On-field Training
Each official is required to participate in one pre-season
scrimmage. |

4. |
Attendance at
In Season Training (Bull Sessions)
All
officials must attend two of three of the in season training
sessions. These sessions serve to review game situations and are
considered a critical component of the training process. |

5. |
Payment of
Dues
Each official must join the GHSA and the fee for this is $28. It
applies to all officials even if you are a member in another
sport.
In addition
GLOA assesses dues in the amount of $21 for officials with 0-3
years experience and $27 for officials with more than three years
experience. GLOA dues are taken out of the game fees each
official earns. |
Completion of the above
five items allows officials to become eligible for post season
assignments. GLOA acknowledges work and game conflicts and will credit
officials for attendance when conflicts occur. Note that in order to
officiate regular season games, it is necessary to complete items 1 and
5 only. Officials who have are members in good standing receive
preference in game assignments.
Registration with U.S. Lacrosse as an adult
member is recommended, but not required.
