GLOA Board’s Covid-19 Update

The GLOA Board is carefully monitoring the situation in regard to the 2020 Spring lacrosse season.  We all very much appreciate the time and effort all of our members have invested in growing the game of lacrosse in Georgia.   Governor Kemp suggested the schools close and GHSA recommended suspension of all sports activities until further notice.  As of Friday March 13, 2020, schools across Georgia are taking steps to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus among the student and faculty population. These include Atlanta, DeKalb, Fulton, Gwinnett, Bartow, Forsyth, Cherokee, Decatur, and Cobb.  You can check here for an updated list of closures.

Right now the season is technically suspended for GHSA and may resume at a later date. All games have been canceled for the foreseeable future and Assignors are updating Arbiter with cancelation notices. GLOA will provide a weekly update a we move forward as some schools are going week to week, some two weeks and a few are suspended three or four weeks so we trying to figure out everyone’s process and before we cancel everything.
