Membership

The Georgia Lacrosse Officials Association (GLOA), founded in 2002, is the premier association in the state.  Membership in the association has some real advantages:

Games

GLOA assigns the vast majority of GHSA games in Georgia, as well as fall and summer adult, high school and youth games and tournaments throughout the year.  Most GHSA playoffs were assigned through GLOA. if you are willing to work, we have games for you. The board negotiates with the state and tournament hosts to procure the best rate for our members.  Payments for games worked are prompt and accurate.

Training

GLOA has a nationally recognized training program where you can learn form experienced teachers in the classroom and work with veteran officials on the field.  With the GLOA game guide, video and PPT presentations, regular newsletters and articles, classroom opportunities and on-field clinics, you always have access to resources designed to make you a better official. This past summer we hosted a US Lacrosse Level II LAREDO clinic at Kennesaw State University and the Kevin Moore fund helps defray the cost of attending professional development opportunities throughout the year.

Insurance

GLOA maintains excellent insurance coverage for its members. if  GLOA assigned you to work  a game, you can be sure you are covered.

Swag

The association is always looking to make sure that we look our best on the field, but don’t break the bank.  We try to get the best deals on what you need to look good, whether it be summer shirts, white hats, patches, coins, gear bags or twenty-second timers. Much of the gear is often free to first or second year refs or is offered at cost.
